Reviews and Ratings
The hotel offers excellent value for money with very high windows in the rooms and very good beds. The service provided by the receptionist to the room chambermaids and manager was exceptional, especially for accommodating an early check-in. The location is ideal on the banks of the river, allowing guests to enjoy tea or a drink in the lovely garden. The dining experience, particularly the French toasts, adds a nice touch to the stay. The facilities are top-notch, catering well to guests' needs.
I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel! The location is superb, right in the heart of Cockermouth city center and overlooking the serene river. The rooms were top-notch, with very high windows offering a breathtaking Riverside view and the comfiest beds. The service was impeccable, from the receptionist to the room chambermaids like James, who went above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. The dining experience was fantastic overall, especially with the exquisite foie gras. The facilities were excellent, making my stay truly delightful.
I was thrilled with my stay at this hotel. The riverside view was charming, and the beds were incredibly comfy. The sash windows fully opened to let in the fresh air, and the high windows added a touch of elegance. The service was top-notch - from the receptionist to room chambermaids, everyone, including the manager James, went out of their way to ensure we could check in earlier, which truly impressed me. While some staff members might benefit from additional customer service training, the effort put in towards making our stay great was evident. The location was perfect, with garden furniture by the river where we could relax, all while being right in the heart of Cockermouth. However, the dining experience left a bit to be desired, especially with the sushi options. Overall, a delightful experience with some minor areas for improvement.
